Holy Spirit 10- The Works of the Holy Spirit in a Believer's Life- Part A

The Works of the Holy Spirit in our lives as believers are numerous. However, I will try to enumerate most of them.

They are:
He is our Teacher/Guide: John 14:17,16:12-15. His teaching ministry's scope is LIMITLESS- He can teach you anything because He knows EVERYTHING ABOUT EVERYTHING- He is ALL KNOWING. There is no aspect of human endeavor that the Divine Spirit can't instruct you about. Hallelujah.

HE IS OUR COMFORTER: John 14:26. Jesus was the Comforter to the Disciples when He was down here. Thank God His prayer to the Father has been answered and ANOTHER COMFORTER OF THE SAME KIND(Grk.: Alos Parakletos) has been sent to us (Disciples). The Amplified Bible gave us some meanings of the word, COMFORTER:
a. Comforter-consoler, encourager. He consoles with the alleviation of griefs and pains.
b. Helper-Rom. 8:26.He takes hold together with us against every challenges or obstacles we may face. In the place of prayer, He gives the correct words to pray and the strength to pray. HE IS THE PRESENT HELP IN TIME OF NEED. Ps. 46:1.
c. STANDBY- we can always switch over to His Limitless resources when we come to the end of ourselves.
d. COUNSELLOR- This is one of the grace upon Jesus the Christ when Isaiah described Him as the Wonderful Counsellor (Is. 9:6) EXTRAORDINARY STRATEGIST. It means His counsel is the best available one. Ps. 16:7. Ahitophel of David's time functioned in this grace.2 Sam.16:23.
e. STRENGTHENER- this is the work of the Spirit of Might. Samson functioned in this capacity. Samson wasn't a Macho man with biceps like a Weight Lifter, No. He was a normal guy with no extraordinary body structure. The anointing in his Dreadlocks made the difference.
f. ADVOCATE- one called to the side of another to help. He is our EARTHLY INTERCESSOR. Jesus Christ in Heaven prays FOR us while the Holy Spirit on the earth prays WITH us. He is our Earthly Lawyer pleading our case. Hallelujah. Isn't it wonderful to know that the Holy Spirit is all these to us? Worship Him.

PRAYER OF ENQUIRY Prayer is a well established and accepted doctrine in all denominations of the body of Christ. Although, there are differences in our modes of prayer, we all believe in the efficacy of lifting up our voice to God to hear our requests and answer them. As much as we do a lot of this, we don't take the full advantage of it as children of God. We would rather worry and think things through rather than calling on God for help. This can be due to lack of faith in the power of God or being slothful in prayers. To pray correctly simply means to pray according to the will of God. It is easy to know the will of God about sickness and poverty because they are expressly written in bible, but even at this, we still do not get answers when we pray. Holy Spirit 15- The Seven Spirits of God- Part 2

We have established yesterday that the 7 Spirits of God describe the 7 fold distinct manifestation of the Holy Spirit and it also describes the perfection of the Spirit of God. Holy Spirit 8- The symbol of Oil

1 Sam.16:13, Is.61:1,PS.23:5,92:10. The Oil typifies ANOINTING UPON & WITHIN A PERSON. It's an empowerment for God's Service. In the old testament, the anointing comes only on THE PRIESTS, KINGS AND PROPHETS to perform spiritual tasks. The rule hasn't changed now just THAT ALL BELIEVERS have been brought in. The anointing is NOT THAT oil you carry about in the bottle. One man of God in Nigeria once said 'THE ANOINTING IS THE HOLY SPIRIT IN A BOTTLE'. That statement is completely heretical. To appreciate the Oil Dimension of the Holy Spirit, let's look at d making of the HOLY ANOINTING OIL in old testament.
