PROPHETIC SERIES DAY 16 Hello everyone, welcome to another day in this prophetic series. We are going to continue to look at the QUALITIES OF A PROPHET. We have talked about the Prayer Life, Word Life, Waiting on God. Yesterday, we stopped at the fact that a prophet must have A SERIOUS LOVE WALK. Paul the apostle says in Rom. 13:8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.  13:10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. A prophet that doesn't have a good love walk will cause more than good in his exercise of the creative dimension of the Prophetic Office. A prophet should have a consistent fellowship with God. Even though this is foundational for every believer and all Ministry Gifts, it is very compulsory for Prophets. Is. 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Ministers experience Burn outs because they don't pay attention to WAITING ON GOD. A Prophet is God's mouthpiece. How can/will you be able to speak effectively on God's behalf if you have not been spending time CONSISTENTLY with Him? Hello everyone, I welcome you to another edition of this prophetic series. We are still looking at the functions of the Prophets. FUNCTIONS OF PROPHETS IN THE BODY OF CHRIST  Amos 3:7 says 'Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets'.  A. Prophets are custodians of Divine secrets. Before God's will is carried out in the Earth, God reveals His secret to His prophets not only those on Earth but also those in Heaven (there are prophets in Heaven and they even have a Council of Prophets-more exposition will still come later). For example, God revealed His plan to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah to Abraham because Abraham was a prophet and a friend of God. Gen. 18:17, 20. God's counsel for His Church and this planets are revealed to prophets for a number of reasons one of which is for them to warn people about it/announce it. Eph. 3:5. Today, we are looking at      FUNCTIONS OF PROPHETS IN   THE CHURCH Just like I said yesterday, every Local Church ought to have the five fold ministries functioning in there. This is supposed to produce well balanced Christians. Being exposed to only one type of Ministry Gift is like eating the same type of food all the time. God is the God of diversity. The uniqueness of the Church is in her diversities.
