Hello everyone, thank God for this series. I am going to continue from where I stopped yesterday.
DANCING IN THE SPIRIT
Is there anything like dancing in the Spirit? I'm sure you know this song;
When the Spirit of the Lord comes upon my soul, I will dance like David danced. I will dance/3xs like David danced. I am sorry to tell you that song is not New Testament compliant. Let's see how David danced.
2Sam. 6:14 And David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod.
Listen, David didn't dance under the anointing of the Holy Ghost. He danced with his might; he danced IN THE FLESH. He danced to keep to the timing of the rhythm being played as the ark was ferried to his domicile. When the anointing comes upon you today, you are not going to dance like David in the flesh but IN THE SPIRIT.
WHAT IS DANCING IN THE SPIRIT?
This is when the anointing of the Holy Spirit comes upon you and especially your legs and you dance to the tune of another beat that is beyond matter, space and time. You dance to the beat of an Heavenly Drum. Dancing in the Spirit is not dancing to the rhythms of Earthly songs or the rhythm of music from your Church. It is dancing under the anointing of the Holy Ghost. Watching such kinds of dances bless me all the time. Not all this one that ladies shake their bums in their tight fitted clothes revealing all the contours in their proclivities and confusing people in churches. Sardonic to say, in many of our churches today, the same dance styles you find in the Club Houses and Secular Music Videos are also found in churches. Most of our dances today draw attention to men and not to God. Anyways, God is putting up with us. But, in most cases, we have substituted BRASS FOR GOLD. There are certain dimensions in God that will be forever strange to a common believer if we continue this way. I know the difference between dancing under the anointing of the Holy Ghost and dancing to keep to the timing of a song because I have experienced the two before. Can you always dance in the Spirit during a Church Service? No, not in this present Church Structure but, your dance can always be acceptable to God and be a blessing to people if you choose to dedicate the dancing session to God.
RUNNING BY THE SPIRIT
1Kgs 18:46 And the hand of the LORD was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.
The same way the hand of the Lord came on Elijah to run in those days, it can still happen now. Have you also read PS.18 before?
Psa 18:29 For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.
18:32 It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.
18:33 He maketh my feet like hinds' feet, and setteth me upon my high places.
18:36 Thou hast enlarged my steps under me, that my feet did not slip.
These are the things the Holy Spirit can do. I am presently in a Retreat at the Redemption Camp. In the yesterday's evening session, the person ministering in this Retreat told me to personally minister to two guys. I went over to where they were. Meanwhile, the two of them were holdings hands. As soon as I touched them, one of them fell to the ground while the other one took off like a tornado and ran away. He was almost out of the entire auditorium before a person that ran at top speed was able to double cross him and brought him back. I am sure in his normal self, he couldn't have run like that. I have watched a Kenneth Hagin video of how a man he laid hands upon did a high jump to the pulpit and did a long jump over a considerable distance. If you watch that video, you will agree that that stunt is not possible for him naturally. This can only testify to the Elijah's account where the HAND OF THE LORD CAME UPON HIM AND HE OUTRAN THE STALLION OF AHAB INTO JEZREEL; a distance of 35miles. Running under the anointing also connote SPEED IN SPECIFIC AREAS OF YOUR LIFE. It is not just a running for fun, it signifies God giving you speed in some areas of your life.
C. LAUGHING IN THE SPIRIT
Psa 2:4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the LORD shall have them in derision.
Luke 10:21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.
Rom 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
1Pet 1:8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
The fact that God has a good sense of humour is clearly seen in Psalm 2. We can laugh under the anointing. I have laughed many times before I know that it is a good thing. Even Proverb 17:22 says A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.
Laughing in the Spirit connotes hitting a note of victory in the realm of the Spirit especially in deep intercession. In the same session yesterday, the Healing Anointing came upon a lady and serious heat was upon her hands. She was rolling on the floor and trying to fan her hands. After she got through, she began to laugh in the Spirit and I also began to laugh with her. You know that laughter is contagious whether natural or spiritual. I remember a minister of God share about what happened when he went to minister in a particular Church. The power of God came upon a particular couple and they began to dance, laugh and hug each other in some very funny and personal way. The thing drew a lot of suspicions that they were summoned to the pastor's office after the service. Upon enquiry, it was discovered that even though they were staying together, they have been keeping malice for almost six months. They don't even sleep in the same room let alone meeting as husband and wife. God used that moment of laughing and dancing together to restore love into that family. Hallelujah!
BEING DRUNK IN THE SPIRIT
Eph. 5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
5:19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
5:20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; 5:21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.
Paul used alcohol to describe one of the effects the Holy Spirit can have on a person. Remember the Holy Spirit is described as a WINE. I did a 40 Days Teaching on The Holy Spirit last year. (You can read up cya-nigeria.blogspot.com.ng). Wine describes His intoxicating power.
On the day of Pentecost, the reason the disciples were accused of being drunk with NEW WINE was because their gesticulations show this. Peter didn't deny that they were drunk, he only said they weren't drunk in the manner the people supposed. Act 2:15. Friends, you can be drunk with the Spirit so much that your centre of gravity can be compromised, your sense of decorum can be temporarily lost. You can literarily begin to stagger about. It is not that the Holy Spirit want to make a mockery of you but, many things happen when you are drunk. Boldness comes to you. You see the timid Peter that couldn't stand a maid was bold enough to preach to thousands of people on the day of Pentecost. Singing, dancing, laughing, running, are some of the effects of being filled/drunk in the Spirit.
HOW DO YOU GET DRUNK?
To be drunk with a natural wine, you have to stay put at the wine; drink continuously. So also to be drunk with the Spirit, you have to STAY LONG IN FELLOWSHIP WITH THE SPIRIT. Spend more time praying in tongues. That's how to drink. You will get to a point that YOU ARE HIGH SPIRITUALLY. Boldness comes, vocabularies from the other realm find audibility within your vocal cords, you can dare anything for God. When you are drunk with the Spirit and you see someone on a wheel chair, you believe the person can get up. Jesus must have been filled with the Spirit before He walked on the Water. Let me stop here.
