Hello everyone, I welcome you in the name of Him who died and rose triumphantly on the third day, Jesus the Son of God to another session in this series. We are still looking at the HOWS OF SUPERNATURALS. Today, I will talk on WAITING ON GOD.
Is. 40:28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
40:29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
40:30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Topics like WAITING ON GOD, ABIDING IN HIS PRESENCE, etc are uncommon in our nowadays churches especially with our Jehovah Sharp sharp mindset. In these days where there is a lot of lightness, looseness and reduction in concentration and thickness, it takes a deliberate effort to stay put to pay the price for any desired level in God.
There is such a thing called WAITING ON GOD. There is something called ABIDING IN HIS PRESENCE.
Psa 91:1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
Waiting on God means holding on tight, hoping with expectation and trust on God knowing fully well that He will show up.
It complete a dependence on God and a willingness to allow Him to decide the terms. Many times, we pray this half-joking prayer, 'Lord I need patience and I need it now'.
Waiting on God produce character in our lives in that it involves patience. James 1:4, ROM.5:5.
It involves being at rest in the Lord.
Heb 4:3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest...
Isa 28:16 says Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.
It is ceasing from personal agenda or ingenuity. Not waiting on God can get you into trouble. Abraham and Sarah are a case study. Zeal must be in alignment with God's Word in the NOW.
Waiting on God doesn't mean to sit idly rather, our actions and attitude should be as of those of a waiter, anticipating and meeting God's request. It is filling our time with service to the master, always on our feet, ready to respond to Him.
It is to be near Him and attentive so that we may catch the slightest glimpse of what He has to say.
Hab. 2:1says I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.
We were first called to BE WITH HIM. Ministry is a secondary priority. Mk. 3:14.
Our strengths will be renewed, our hearts are responsive to God's word and a patience rooted in faith is built. Be it known unto you that the strength you get from this WAITING is directly proportional to the quantity and quality of time spent in the Secret place. When you wait, you will discover that you haven't lost time, rather you have gained time. The sacrifice is worth it. Don't be entangled with the spirit of busyness that is at work in this time. The time spent in prayers, Studying God's Word and listening/paying attention to what He has to say(for He speaks) are going to be gained back. Godliness is profitable IN ALL THINGS.
1Tim. 4:8 For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
I rest my case for now. Tomorrow is another day.
