I greet you in the name of Him that has the All Seeing Eyes and the All Hearing Ears to another edition in this Prophetic Series.
I want to believe we are all familiar with the Nine Gifts of the Spirit listed in 1Cor. 12:8-10. I think it should be P. C. Nelson of blessed memory that divided the Nine Gifts of the Spirit into three broad parts;
A. UTTERANCE GIFTS
B. REVELATIONAL GIFTS
C. POWER GIFTS.
From research and careful study, I discovered that ALL THE GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT ARE DIRECTLY/INDIRECTLY INVOLVED IN DIFFERENT ASPECTS OF THE PROPHETIC MINISTRY.
You don't have to agree with me but when I am through, you will agree with me.
Now, it is time to look into the
GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT FROM THE PROPHETIC PERSPECTIVE
REVELATIONAL GIFTS:
They are gifts of the Spirit that REVEAL SOMETHING. The spectrum of coverage of these gifts is limitless. They can supply information about the God Head and every other creation. The gifts under this category are:
A. THE GIFT OF A WORD OF WISDOM: From the Greek rendering of the New Testament, the correct name of this gift -The Gift of a Word of Wisdom.
WHAT IT IS NOT
1. It is not the gift of Wisdom.
2. It is not the application of knowledge for there is no prior knowledge of the matter in most cases.
3. It has nothing to do with intellectual prowess, educational qualification or advancement in age. This is not the wisdom that increase with age.
WHAT IT IS
A. IT IS A SUDDEN IMPARTATION OF SUPERNATURAL WISDOM CONCERNING A MATTER SHOWING WHAT TO SAY OR DO.
B. It is a sudden impartation of a fragmental wisdom of God concerning a matter. In other word, what you know is a fragment of the Infinite Wisdom of God.
C. It is always futuristic in nature. It has nothing to do with the past and the present but, it has everything to do with the future. It always reveal what will happen in the future or what should be done in the future.
I'm sure you have gotten it now?
You now understand that when there is a revelation from God about the future, THE GIFT OF A WORD OF WISDOM IS IN OPERATION.
BIBLICAL EXAMPLES
As a matter of fact, the examples of the operation of this gift especially in the Old Testament is almost inexhaustible. But note this, EVERY TIME PROPHETS PROPHESIED ABOUT FUTURE EVENTS, THIS GIFT IS IN OPERATION. So, Isaiah 9:6-7 is an example.
2. The revelation that our Lord Jesus gave to Ananias about the Mission Statement of Saul which later became Paul is also an example. Acts 9:15-16
HOW DO THE GIFT OF A WORD OF WISDOM MANIFEST?
There are many ways and channels to the flow of this gift. Let's look at some of them.
A. Through Prophecy.
This is a very common channel which most people are familiar with. This is what we most times call prophecy. Prophecy is inspired utterance in a known language. But, the simple gift of prophecy do not FORETELL. I have explained Foretelling and Forth telling yesterday. In 1 Cor. 14:3, the apostle told us that the simple gift of prophecy EDIFY, EXHORT AND COMFORT. No foretelling is involved; just forth telling. So, when Prophecy begins to reveal things that will happen in the future (the future can even be One minute from now), the Gift of a Word of Wisdom is involved. I hope you've gotten it?
B. Through Dream, Vision and Trance. More explanation will come in later. But, know that the three of them entails SEEING BEYOND THE NATURAL. It can be by your natural eyes or spiritual eyes. Do I have spiritual eyes? Yes, you do. We will deal with this when we discuss ACTIVATING YOUR SPIRITUAL SENSES.
C. THROUGH AN INWARD KNOWING. You see 1Jn 2:20 says But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.
All things include things that are yet to occur. When this gift manifest this way, you can't explain how you know. YOU JUST KNOW THAT YOU KNOW. When information about the future of anything or anyone come to you, just know that The Gift of A Word of Wisdom is in manifestation.
D. THROUGH AN AUDIBLE VOICE OF GOD. Though this seldomly happen, but it doesn't mean it can't happen. God can speak to you audibly because He does speak AUDIBLY. When He does and the revelation is about the future, this gift is in manifestation. One teacher of God's Word said that when God uses this medium to speak to you, most likely it is to avoid danger or because something serious is at stake and he wants you to be at alert.
E. VISITATION OF JESUS, TWENTY- FOUR ELDERS, FOUR LIVING CREATURES, SAINTS AND OTHER HEAVENLY BEINGS.
Some readers are already raising eyebrows. In these days and times, this will become a commonplace in the body of Christ. As a matter of fact, this is one of the reasons for this series. You can actually be visited by Jesus Himself. Any of the twenty four elders and four living creatures can bring revelation about the future to you. God can send any of the saints to you to bring you revelation and angels can even bring revelation to you. I know you can easily believe that of angels but Saints? Elders? Four Living Creatures? Yes to all. I will still deal with it in this series and because of those that wants to learn and the Pharisees following this series, I will give you scriptures. Trust me. God has prepared me for this task.

ACTIVATION
Spiritual things respond to HUNGER AND THIRST; STRONG DESIRE. Mt. 5:6
Bow your knees in prayer and desperation. Tell God that you desire the operation of the Gift of a Word of Wisdom in your life and ministry. He will answer if you ask in FAITH.
