Things To Do Before Attending a ‘Special Program’.
These times, we are witnessing a lot of programs in our churches and there are several testimonies that come out of these meetings. The testimonies are received with mixed feelings. While some believe it, others see it as a set-up and give different excuses why it cannot be true. Well, special programs are scriptural. Jesus had many of them during His ministry on the earth.
There are things you must know and do before attending a special program and this determines how much you will receive from those programs. Before you attend your next program, these are the things you must do to be position yourself well for the program.
1- Study about The Theme: You should find out the theme of the program and do a thorough study on it from the bible. This helps your hunger to swell as you may encounter certain questions and you would anticipate that the questions are answered in the program.
2- Meditate about The Theme: After studying from the bible, take enough time to meditate on the theme of the program. This takes time so you should decide some days before the program if you will be attending. Meditation helps you to understand the subject more.
3- Pray for the Program: Contribute your own quota to the success of the program by praying for the ministers and the workers. This is a seed from you.
4- Pray about the Program: Ask the Lord to meet with you in the program in the way that he has not met you before. God responds very well to hunger. Always arrive early and take more time to pray into the program. Your spirit should remain sharp as the program begins. Smith Wigglesworth recommends 15 minutes of praying in the Spirit before the program starts.
5- Fast during the Period: If it is a day program, you can fast so as to be able to be open to receive more from the Lord and if the program spans many days, you may decide to turn the week into a retreat time for yourself. Take some time off some other things and dedicate more time to the Lord in fasting and prayers.
Special programs always solve a need as it is a call from the Lord through which He would impact some of Himself. These 5 nuggets certainly would help you to receive more and let your hope be in God and not the minister. Even if the minister does not touch you, God will meet with you.
Finally, allow the Holy Spirit to lead you in attending meetings. Don’t be ‘lo here, lo there’. Be led.
