Holy Spirit 14- The Seven Spirits of God- Part 1

To begin with, the 7 Spirits of God are not 7 different Spirits of God. But, it means 7 DISTINCT MANIFESTATIONS OF THE SAME HOLY SPIRIT or, you can say THE HOLY SPIRIT MANIFESTING IN 7 DIFFERENT WAYS.

NUMBER 7
The number 7 in the Bible means THE PERFECTION OF GOD IN ALL GENERATION. God had to introduce this number in Gen. 3.

Number 3
The number 3 is the number of TRINITY and it also signifies RESURRECTION. If you notice, on the 3rd day in Gen. 1, it was life. By d principle of Sowing and Reaping, a seed must die first before it can germinate. John 12:24. But, on the third day, God said trees with seeds should come out of the ground. In other word, an orange tree came up with oranges ready for consumption on the third day of Recreation (we are in a RECREATED EARTH- this is for another time).

God established trinity in the garden as exemplified by the relationship between Him, Adam & Eve. But, the Devil brought death into this No. 3 by the evil act of disobedience he caused Adam and Eve to do against God. When God stepped in, He took the number of persons involved from 3 to 7. When God pronounced His verdicts, 7 persons were involved. Can you mention them?

God was now able to restore LIFE into the number 3 if not, Jesus couldn't have risen on the third day.

THE 7 SPIRITS OF GOD describe the perfection of the Spirit of God. Some other names used to describe the 7 Spirits of God are: THE SEVEN EYES, SEVEN LAMPS & THE SEVEN HORNS.  We will look into them later.

Now, let us list them:
Isa  11:1-2 '*And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:  And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD*'.

1.The SPIRIT OF THE LORD.
2. THE SPIRIT OF WISDOM.
3.THE SPIRIT OF UNDERSTANDING/REVELATION.
4. THE SPIRIT OF COUNSEL.
5. THE SPIRIT OF MIGHT.
6. THE SPIRIT OF KNOWLEDGE.
7. THE SPIRIT OF THE FEAR OF THE LORD.

We will look them one after the other:

1. THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD
Is. 11:2, 61:1, 1 Kgs. 18:46
This is the Spirit of Dominion. It describes THE ANOINTING UPON. The Spirit of the Lord always comes UPON. He is the Spirit that gives boldness and the empowerment for Kingdom Service. Ministry Gifts and Spiritual Gifts are under the guidance of the operation of the Spirit of the Lord. He is the Spirit of Lordship (Dominion, Rulership, Leadership, Exousia-Authority). I will like to stop here.

We have established yesterday that the 7 Spirits of God describe the 7 fold distinct manifestation of the Holy Spirit and it also describes the perfection of the Spirit of God. Holy Spirit 8- The symbol of Oil

1 Sam.16:13, Is.61:1,PS.23:5,92:10. The Oil typifies ANOINTING UPON & WITHIN A PERSON. It's an empowerment for God's Service. In the old testament, the anointing comes only on THE PRIESTS, KINGS AND PROPHETS to perform spiritual tasks. The rule hasn't changed now just THAT ALL BELIEVERS have been brought in. The anointing is NOT THAT oil you carry about in the bottle. One man of God in Nigeria once said 'THE ANOINTING IS THE HOLY SPIRIT IN A BOTTLE'. That statement is completely heretical. To appreciate the Oil Dimension of the Holy Spirit, let's look at d making of the HOLY ANOINTING OIL in old testament.
