To start with, what is Luck?
Wikipedia defined luck as simply a descriptive label that points out an event's positivity, negativity, or improbability. This label is usually attached to an entity or a body of entities.
We are in the era where it is believed that hard work is the most required factor to be successful in whatever path that is chosen. But then, considering a sample set of entities, it is discovered that a larger percent don't really have an encouraging result to show even with a huge level of hard work put into it.
It is then surprising to see some that are not as hardworking as the former having results to show. Then the question 'How did it happen?' crops up; perhaps 'he is lucky' is the answer most likely to surface.
My definition of LUCK
Luck is simply preparation meeting with opportunity. The long term result of an event defines whether the event can be termed LUCK or DOOM.
Consider this two cases
CASE 1: Peter suddenly wins a promo of 5 million Naira.
Years later, you ask Peter about the 5 million Naira, and there is nothing tangible to point at
CASE 2. John also suddenly wins a promo of 5 million Naira.
Years after, John was asked the same question and there was something to point at.
Note: OPPORTUNITY IN THE HANDS OF AN UNPREPARED MAN IS A WASTE IN DISGUISE.
God doesn't waste his resources, he won't direct opportunities to you when he is sure you would only waste them. The master frowned at the servant that buried the only talent that was given him.
The two cases has a similar event, but different .
John and Peter both had an opportunity, but one met with preparation, the other met with no preparation.
One of the rules that operates in creating your own luck is CREATING ROOM FOR RANDOMNESS. Be prepared for everything and anything while awaiting an opportunity. This makes you relevant to any opportunity that moves in your direction. Don't be stuck in a rut. Be opened to new things, innovations, skills, ideas...
However, not all doors are your door. Not all open doors is yours. If a prison door open to you, you won't enter. Some doors are trap in disguise.
Also, another rule that operates in creating your own luck is POSITIONING YOURSELF TO INFORMATION. You will only be aware of opportunities that flies around if you have unrestricted access to information.
We shall stop here today, to be continued in part 2.
God bless you richly.
